I have no problem with Pinterest cleaning URL crap. Pinterest is not Twitter, you don't need short URLs, affiliate links have been banned on Tumblr for years, this is nothing new on social media, and the ugly and annoying utm_source URLs do not work properly anyways, it's better to track referrers directly IMHO. Also they mess up social media counts etc.
