I would love to make more use of this feature, but I must admit that I have great difficulty understanding what's meant by "Enabled" and "Disabled" in this context. Does "Enabled" mean that the parameter is going to be ignored? Or is that "Disabled"? What about parameters that aren't listed? I assume they're crawled by default. And why such a low limit on the amount of parameters allowed?
I think Google Webmaster Tools better handles this feature with more intuitive language for actions you can take. You're right. It's ludicrously confusing. From past experience, I'm pretty sure "Disabled" means "this parameter creates a unique URL and should be indexed". So the "Enable" means "yes, please enable your URL normalization feature for this parameter". Clearly, if I did UX for Bing Webmaster Tools the buttons would be HUGE. FWIW, I've just completely removed and re-written all of my site's parameter's in Bing's tool. Well, the top 50 anyway, because that's the limit of what they allow. Will report back if I see any changes.
Hey John, that's a great find on StackExchange - thanks for sharing! I agree with your interpretation of what Bing's implying here. I just want them to take the next step to update the button label and define their meaning more clearly in the related help article.
