Why is this press release on the FP with 9 votes after 6 hours? Do we have so many lovers of hyperbole?
Are you questioning how a submission with only 9 votes gets on page 1 or questioning how a news release, posted on a brand's site, gets on page 1?
You can get to the FP with just 2 votes now. I wonder why this was upvoted by real users or whether it was a sock puppet thing.
It does seem quite commercial. I can't see why it would be of any interest to most Inbound users. That said, much better articles are frequently ignored.
Good points made. If there wasn't an "Industry News" section, it's not likely I would have submitted this PR. But it is industry news, and not so much because of the product, but more so because of the size of the investment made in a product that serves the SEO community. If you have ideas for how to better utilize the "Industry News" section, please share.
Thanks David, this is Jen - the social media/research girl from Conductor. I can assure you this was not a 'sock puppet' thing, mainly due to the fact that the vast majority of my coworkers are still out of power and otherwise busy trying to dig out of Hurricane Sandy. I appreciate you sharing our news on inbound - I think it's exciting news for the industry as a whole. Let me know if you have any questions (I'm one of the lucky ones with relatively reliable power + internet!)
Thanks, Jen for stopping by to leave a comment. As far as PRs go, I thought the one that I posted was pretty tame and not nearly as promotional and self-serving as many tend to be.
Obviously, I have no stake in Conductor, I'm not at all affiliated with your company, but I am genuinely happy when these things happen to companies that are working hard to deliver a great product.
