    Please note: Google said it themselves that they were targeting low quality EMDs. Not all EMDs, "low quality". So the 3-5 word, 20+ character non-.com domains are taking the hits here. From what I've seen, under 15 character .com domains are still working like a charm. Like everything else in SEO, quality finally caught up with EMDs.

    Exactly Jon, I suppose the TL;DR is 'deep + quality sites weren't hit'. As Wil Reynolds said at search love "Every algorithmic change is designed to surface quality content". I just found it ridiculous that people were getting deterred from using EMDs.
