After striking out so many times before on brands and small business, I hope Google steps up to the plate and doesn't blow it yet again.
Excellent point, especially regarding smaller businesses. Using a trusted verification model like rel=publisher to identify brands and allow Google to attribute trust factors to them would be an incredible thing!
Oh great Mike Arnesen, now I have something competing for the top of my Google wish list with AuthorRank! I align with much of your thinking on where Google may want to go with Rel=Publisher, but no one has laid it all out before as well as you have here. Bravo!
