Detailed write up mans thanks for sharing. Looks like you are getting a lot of traffic from Scoop.it, and probably some more from Inbound.org :)

Yes inbound.org has sent me 250 uniques in the past few hours which is amazing for such a new curation site

Hi... curation content is surely a powerful tactic. So much that actually I am on my way to end the draft for a post/guide about it, which I will propose for publication on SEOmoz (stay tuned). I know Scoop.it since it was in a invitation only pre beta (that means more than 1 year ago) and it is surely one of the best curation service out there. But, as any tactic, I would like to remind how it cannot be the only tactic when it comes to Content Marketing. I mean, to be a respected and authoritative curator in your specialty is surely a "yes-yes" condition in order to promote your brand and - also - facilitate the engagement with your targeted public on a higher level, but being just a curator it is not sufficient in order to become what anyone and any brand should aim to be: the thoughtful leader in its market. For that, it is essential to be also a creator, delivering new content, which should be at the same (if not better) level of the one you curate. But I think this is something you both agree with. On the other hand, sometimes I fear the natural condition of the services like Scoop.it, which is, substantially, to act outside of your own site. In my "ideal" world, it must be in your site where the curation content effort you are practicing should be realized. I believe that's my SEO part asking for that... you know: links, social signal, citations et al would be to my site and not to scoop.it. For this reason, even though I like it, I tend not to use directly, but prefer other curation tool like snip.it, bundlew, clipboard and storify, which allow me to embed the curated content I store (and which is visible to all in those sites) in my site. Ciao!!!

Grazie, I whole heartedly agree with you & tools such as storify look brilliant but I am yet to try them on my own blog (but no doubt I will very soon) I look forward to your Moz blog on the topic.

Nice introduction to what's sure to become a growing category, content curation tools, as represented by Scoop.it. It's probably especially useful to folks just starting out in inbound marketing as opposed to people who've been at it for a while.

Great article from Chris - and I know he parctices what he preaches because he is omnipotent at the moment. Some great points by Gianluca as well, scoop.it would be even better if there was some kind of embedding option (curate and embed like storify...)
