I love that so much of business these days is about competing to add the most value possible. I need to start thinking about my business like that, too. Thanks for posting this, Ed.
Personally, this was the most impactful sentence:
"People who are unsavvy about business, like me in 2009 or like most freelancers today, treat themselves like commodity providers of a well-understood service that is available in quantity and differentiated purely based on price."
I totally agree. The true difference is that we are surrounded by professionals in our niche and some we believe to be much better at our niche than we are, this causes us to doubt our worth or feel like we have to fight on price. In actuality we could charge an arm and a leg because the information we have is ultimately going to get our client's incredible results. We seem to get so desensitized to the strategies we have because of how many we hear of every day, that we forget the actual value they hold. I loved this article, thanks for posting this Ed!
