This is why cross browser testing in all the major platforms is so important. Most webmasters will get a shock if they check their ecommerce or goal conversion rate by operating system & device. If you've got even a passingly complex site or application, it screams at you that you have platform issues that need investigating.
+1 - plenty of web-based products don't do a good job with IE in particular, and it seriously hurts their bottom line.
