    Twitter sucks more and more. No wonder, it's partly owned by the Saudi Arabian kingdom. Why should a dictatorship that does not even allow women to drive cars be able to manage a formerly democratic publishing service?

    It's simple, they're a private company that needs to make more money. There's absolutely nothing democratic about Twitter at all (nor has it ever been democratic in the past). It's a private, for profit communications platform.

    Therein lies the appeal of app dot net as you are paying for the platform and service and not primarily serving an advertising network. The downside is of course the current reach and the uncertainty of wider take up.
