commit: 6b2ca8a - #414 (2014-03-05 12:54:44 -0500)
Ha ha. Double take!
This is the kind of parody I can get behind. The Onion of SEO :-)
I wonder how many site owners are now shutting down their blogs.
I can only hope the impact has been far-reaching.
Great stuff. I'm going to get going on shutting down all my clients' blogs and starting direct mail campaigns now.
Be sure to share your successful case studies!
my blog is gone now I MUST use Google+ for all my blogging!
Yes, my follow-up post will cover Google+ conversations as the new alternative to blogging.
That Matt Cutts! Such a cheeky little rascal!
I have controversial feelings regarding this blog post. I tend to trust people and English is not my first language. I started to read this blog and thought to myself: "OMG, Google is going to implement this, they are leaving us, SEOs even less space to maneuver..."
Then i started searching for the proofs and couldn't find any. And only then I clicked the link at the bottom of the article.
You may not care Joel, but my opinion is that this post was not a wise thing.
Slava, I'm sorry you felt that this piece wasted your time. It was intended in fun. I can recognize that satire/sarcasm are not everyone's cup of tea - and I do recognize the challenge in non-native English speakers.
But that said - there were a lot of clues (why would I have access to an interview that SELand wasn't publishing? Why would nobody else be talking about it? Why would Google EVER tell people to haul down every single blog on the internet?).
The SEO industry places trust in all the wrong places; that's EXACTLY what I wanted to poke fun at by writing this post.
While I sincerely apologize that you feel your time was wasted, satire and parody is something many people find funny and enjoy. I can appreciate that you didn't and I do apologize. But - others loved the piece. Can't please everyone.
Blog deleted. Hopefully I rank first now!
You're riding the chill wave to the top, friend.
Direct mail - well played :)
Cheers. I'm a new follow after your irreverent but well written piece from yesterday.
ROFL - Well, I think we both understand how what we write isn't always for everyone. It's nothing personal.
This is not just parody, several client blogs of mine have been collateral damage to Google updates and penalties. Don't tell me I was a bad SEO and messed up or soemthing, I was jsut writing for them in most cases.
oh....Can't believe on.Shutting of the blog.
shutting down a blog with a lot of followers without warning, no way!
Now that's an awesome read for Monday.
