    We've been in discussions with the folks at Hacker Monthly about launching a print and digital magazine to showcase the best of Inbound.org each month.

    I love the idea of increasing Inbound.org audience by opening to Marketing directors and marketing agencies. However, I'm afraid this survey wouldn't get positive response HERE as a subscription is probably more targeted to offline marketers rather than online marketing practitioners. I think SEOs & co. enjoy different types of articles from the ones regular marketers would, so a magazine should have more "basic" articles to appeal to their audience. What about developing a test copy and sending it to agencies directly?

    Nope!... Just re-read what I've written and it was definitely hard to understand! Just saying that the community here is probably more into in-depth, actionable articles that best suit their niche. And a website suits them best! The nature of a printed magazine doesn't allow for the same use, and if you want to appeal to the wider marketing community, you may have to feature more general articles. And this is why I can't see online and offline marketers enjoying the same type of content!

    Nope. I used to subscribe to the StomperNet magazine, which was great, but just never read it. Trying to get into the habit of reading books away from the laptop. Already read too many blog posts without adding a magazine of them to the mix :)

    That's kinda the point of Inbound though, to curate the best reading for you. Putting it in a magazine takes it to a whole new level. "Here's a dozen awesome articles you'll love to read each month, beautifully printed and shipped to your door"

    I'd be a bit skeptical on what was getting curated unless I trusted the opinion of the person making the selections. What would that look like aside from selecting articles with most upvotes?

    There are articles that really standout. Not just upvotes and comments but the sentiment. Working with the folks at Hacker Monthly we were looking at what might make the first issue. Scrolling through the 'all time' and searching for nov/dec articles, then giving a yes/no whether it makes a shortlist based on upvotes/comments, then picking from the shortlist.

    Great to see you pushing Inbound forward with new ideas Ed. Personally I'd prefer a weekly email that links to the best stuff. That way it'd be easier to skim and find what I want as I know most industry mags we get here don't get as well read as just general blog posts that are passed around.

    I'm not sure. I think the freedom and fluidity of Inbound.org is what I love. Charging me to read over the articles that I've already had the chance to read on the site when they were hot off the press seems a bit silly. I'm not putting down the idea, I'd be the first to buy the publication if it was given a fresh feel, perhaps a group of some of the best authors on Inbound over a period of months, which then get together quarterly and produce some really original, top class content that you would only be able to get in the magazine, I might be swayed, but re-curating content I'd already read just seems a bit silly. Sorry Ed! :(

    I would be interested in perhaps seeing more in depth articles on the most popular topics. Maybe take the top articles, have the authors rewrite them and flesh them out a bit and add some images. Part of me thinks that would be pretty cool, but I'm not 100% sure I'd end up reading it.

    Certainly something that could be cool in the future but I think the site should be the focus at the moment, there is definitely a lot more you guys can do (and i'm sure you have a huge list) that I think you should focus on first.

    I think a better approach would be to create an app (for mobile and tablet devices) and charge up to $5.99 for it. I would most certainly pay for that (and use it more than a magazine or online subscription) before I would pay monthly / yearly.

    I think it was in Jon Colman's article thread a while back that a long-form publication for SEOs might be cool, and I agreed. But to many others' points here, not sure at this point what the value add of this would be, both for the people that work on inbound and for the community as a whole.

    I would happily pay to receive a print copy of a magazine on the topic of inbound marketing - provided it ships to Cape Town, South Africa.

    I think it's a great idea. The idea of having high quality curated lists in hard copy would be very valuable to me personally.
