What a cool find! There's so much talk about original content and how non-original content can hurt you, but there's no talk of how scrapers could help you. I would love to see more on this.
Excellent article. While I knew about RSS feeds being republished I never considered a "scrape rate" to quickly check how much a page is being republished. The "three checks divided by three" is a great way to quickly check how much and how often. I could easily seeing this being an automated tool. Throw some Page Authority in there and you get some nifty data to work with.
I have had several occasions where I've seen my post just been ripped off and published on other blogs. It's really heart breaking as I put in about 3-4 hours to write a blog post which are well researched and lengthy. I do this with passion and I don't really expect anything in return. (I don't blog for the sake of making money) Genius idea! Will check out my "scrape rate". My only concern is that doing this for each post may take some time. If there's a tool that can automate the process, please let me know.
