Maybe I misunderstood, but it seems to me what the author is suggesting is that the old way of link building is the new way of link building, + NAP.
Author suggests to build:
- Press Releases
- Email Signatures
- Company Blog Posts
- Guest Blog Posts
- Article Marketing (the non-spammy way)
- RSS Feeds
- Forum Signatures
- Community Sponsorship
- Banner Ads
- PPC Ads
So the old link building, + NAP?@Adam yep, that's what he appears to be saying.

Yea I was going to say, the writing style is very bizarre and almost incoherent to me. I applaud the effort, but didn't get much out of it and left confused. About to go read it again...
Hmmmm I really don't get it, or maybe I didn't understand what he want to say but he did not focus on the topic of his article. What he listed is the old ways of link building process...
