Thanks for asking me to contribute, and I had NO idea how many people you were getting answers from!! Its a pretty extensive list, nice job!

I had no idea how many ppl (let alone SEO ppl) listen to Daft Punk!

  • Sean   Mar 06 2012   Flag

Haha, that did seem quite popular!

I was going to reference Alive 2007 (Daft Punk) but knew of at least 2 other SEOs on the list who would haha.

Thanks for all the hard work putting together this list, I know it wasn't easy compiling results from 50+ people!

One of the most enjoyable posts I've read (during working hours - are there other hours?). Awesome to see it's okay to be a professional who never stopped listening to his hip hop albums. Love that Wayne Barker digs 'Explosions..', Doherty bumps to Nas; and, Weezer, Daft Punk, and other great bands were mentioned. Awesome.

I am compiling the data from the post for a follow up...what hip hop albums are you still listening to? My favorite old school album right now is Midnight Marauders by Tribe Called Quest.

Everything! New stuff too... for me... Common, Kanye, TCQ, Slum Village, Drake... I'd say "Like Water For Chocolate" is my fav 'old school' album - I feel old just calling that old school! Can't believe that's a 2001 release.

this is an awesome idea and a real community building post. It's funny how all SEO's seem to have there go to music for the occassion

I relate so well because I have certain music I listen to while doing tedious tasks (sifting through analytics or just watching as live visitors land on my site with Real-Time analytics), adword campaign setup (we all know music helps us through this!!), and keyword list building. Through all this, Donavan Frankenreiter keeps my heart rate down and mind clear; open... I find my ideas come alive when I'm in a laid-back beachy state of mind. Bob Dylan is another I turn to for comfort throughout the day. Subterranean Homesick Blues gets me moving while I warm up with some early-morning-blog-reading.
