I totally agree. The amount of poor & stupid content out there is overwhelming. The content curation seem to be a bigger challenge each day. Black Hat Content Marketing is the new spam. And Google needs to find a solution.
Hopefully, AuthorRank will fix this, at least partially.
Well, I think anything Black Hat gets put in the spam arena. Black Hats help Google define what spam is, White Hats help Google Determine what provides value.
Yeah if you have the budget to make 10 average pieces of content next month...why not scrap that horrible plan and make 1 or 2 GOOD pieces that will actually net you results? If I had a nickle for everytime I explain this to client..I would have more than one nickle.
Exactly! Focus on what you say well and take the time to say it well. Anything else is a waste of time, and put more strongly, hurtful to you (whether that hurt is happening in Google or not; people matter more than bots).
"Advanced"? I don't think so. Posting crappy content is beginner stuff. Advanced black hat link building is way harder to detect ;)
Good point Ian. I litterally was going to alter the title but I was using their quote so left it in.
