LOL. "SEO is bullshit" doesn't suffice to raise eyebrows these days anymore. "internet Marketing is a scam" is the next big thing.
I think the biggest issue with this article is that we, as SEO professionals, are being roped in with this bane of an industry. By calling these folks "Internet Marketers", it's really not helping to further the credibility of our industry in the mind of the general public. It's a fantastic read, regardless. Was going to post this myself.
What a great read. One of the best articles I have read in a while. I don't necessarily agree with them throwing direct marketing tactics like lead gen / email lists in as scams, these are used by companies around the world to grow their businesses. But the IM world is filled with people trying to rip you off. It's funny to see the big guys all get mentioned in it.
This was a good read, but I don't like how they made con artists synonymous with internet marketer. The lingo they give as examples of internet marketing speak are common terms used across all of marketing. With the research that went into this story, how could they make this sweeping generalization? Is it intentional?
