Dan did a great job making some very actionable steps for us to take on our site (I'm the dad from this post by the way.) :) He also did a great explaining ways for anyone who wants to do well at blogging / sharing a story to do it. I agree with @Patrick, these two posts (plus the 1 Dan wrote on setting up Wordpress for success) really should be go-to posts for anyone blogging. (Rather it's a new blog, or one that's been around for a while.) Thanks again Dan for doing Epic stuff! :)
I think this is a very specific example. The story is very touching, personal and tragic. People can relate to it. You couldn't do that with an SEO blog though or any other business blog IMHO.
@Tad Thanks so much for your comment. I hope you signed up to get our daily posts, because you are one of the people we want to connect with our site. Most people have no idea what it's like to raise a child with Down syndrome (myself included until about 22 months ago) One of the main reasons we started this site was to give people a window into what life is like raising a child with Down syndrome. So I hope you'll stay tuned. :) By the way, I assure you our story isn't "tragic" by any means. Take a look at the sorts of things we do day in day out. Like for instance this weekend when we were in New York, take a look at these images...does our story look tragic? http://noahsdad.com/nyc-buddy-walk-2012-central-park/ No offensive by the way, it's all good. But I think you'll be blown away as you watch Noah grow up. There has never been a better time in the history of the world for a child to be born with Down syndrome, the resources we have today are amazing. People born with Down syndrome live fulfilling lives, get married, go to college, have awesome careers (even watch Glee?), etc.. So we hope we can educate the world. Thanks for your comment and reminding me how important our goal is. :)
