commit: 6b2ca8a - #414 (2014-03-05 12:54:44 -0500)
I'm trying to do something like this in my blog, i'm using Infogr.am for interactive charts and i'm loving it.
It's a real struggle to be creative around web content without making interactive infographics and the like (usually reserved for sites with MEGA budgets).
I found this great white paper on the art of story telling above advertising, pretty cool insights from senior people from Mashable, Business Insider, etc
I've been playing with arbor.js, per Nick's suggestion. Super-simple. The documentation is awful, but it's worth a look.
That's great! I am in the market for a mapping tool as we speak, so ... yay! :-)
I really liked those Outside Box thinking. Great tips. Thanks a lot.
Wow! I can't believe I just read an article about content that actually lists some things I hadn't thought about before. I can't necessarily use it right now but I'm filing that away "just in case." Also: love those wallets! :)
I just noticed I shared the same article... I apologize for that, inbound.org didn't catch the similar title. :-)
Love this! It seems like some of the more interesting content I want to produce is very developer-intensive, and I'm... a little bit light in developer time. Some of these aren't reliant on dev time, though, and I'll be putting them into use.
'Content Marketers' take note
So "blogging is dead"?
Let the blog posts commence!
Great article Nick. I've been exploring more ideas for non blog / content ideas to utilize for clients and this certainly got the wheels turning. I especially liked the interactive charts idea and I'm sure I'll be bugging my developers with even more interactive content ideas going forward!
I agree you can't just write a great blog posting anymore, there has to be something more to it. To have something cut through all the nonsense that’s overflowing on the Internet these days, it must be interesting and shareable—a linkable asset. I think its important to harness your content ideas into something bigger. Content should be a resource for viewers to gain something from. It could be a white paper, chart, poll, meme, map, game, infographic, video, webcast, or anything else you can publish, embed, or make available as a download.
Agreed! Investing in your content, including rich media is essential to create a community of engaged followers. Gotta give your networks a reason to talk about you with something more than good writing!
Loved the wallet-slider, i actually ended-up buying one for myself :)
