Isn't this selling links?!
People are donating to charity. As a result, someone who appreciates said charity is including their name (and a link) on a page of people who were kind enough to support the charity. I think it falls into the same bucket as link building by sponsoring an event or offering a scholarship. It's just on a much smaller scale.
In the end, the webmaster (me) doesn't see a cent, so I'd hardly call it selling links.
