Hey Bodo! Great post with some very practical tips and good examples - I was shocked about the Bank of America twitter :D
Hey Iness! Yeah, absence of personal approach and automating replies make companies communities totally useless..
Reminds me of this post RE: Goldman Sach's twitter reputation management problems: http://www.distilled.net/blog/distilled/goldman-sachs-tricky-marketing-problem-gselevator/
Great to see more and more 'traditional' large corporations getting social media. The whole "be a human" thing... :) Now to make it a little less wooden.
Ed, thanks for sharing the article. Funny and ironic :) And yes, hopefully, big companies will learn on their own mistakes and will care more about their web communities.
I skimmed it to make sure they didnt mention amy's baking co first, because I am tired of reading about that.
I was reluctant to include this example into my post because their epic fail was too... epic :))) Still thought that lots of people already wrote about this Facebook failure and wanted to find something fresh and more down-to-earth. Hope I managed to do that.
