Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but this article felt a little weak to me to have garnered 17 votes... Might be worth checking if it's part of a voting ring.
17 votes, 20 views, 41 clicks on here.
0 likes, 0 tweets, 0 Google+, 5 linked in shares... (nobody else is loving this article except the people on Inbound)
You could be right Rand.
@Rand - I can't speak to whether or not there is a voting ring, but if there is I'd love to know why someone else would go through that trouble to promote this post. Just looking at the upvotes for the article so far I can say that I am not familiar with the majority of them and they don't seem to have any tie with each other.
I can say that there was a similar post on Wordpress plugins, which got more upvotes than this article. I just think that people tend to like these types of easily digestible posts that recommend apps / tools.
@Website Sales Lab - The social shares you reference are not accurate. It looks like you're just going off of the social plugin stats on the post, which apparently doesn't seem to be working. I see far more shares (especially on Twitter) than "0"
I share a lot of articles on Inbound as I like to use it as my repo for saving good content. In that process I obviously see the activity (i.e. notifications) that comes with it. I've also seen far worse content on here that gets 20+ upvotes.
Either way, the feedback, good or bad, is appreciated and will be used to create even better content.
Vinny - I always check out imFORZA's blog, I think you guys produce good content. I don't think your articles are weak, but I do think they are geared for a slightly different audience than the type of content that usually ranked high here.
I believe Rand's suspicion arose because it might be difficult to imagine the advanced-level inbound.org crowd to get this excited about mac apps - apps which I'm sure they all are well aware of. I could be wrong.
Either way - I read the article, and I also enjoyed the WP one you guys had. Always good to stay current on tech.
Thanks Michael, I appreciate your feedback. It's funny because when I submitted our article, which I actually don't do that often, I was really not expecting much traction. I'm glad that some seem to have gotten some use out of it.
