commit: 6b2ca8a - #414 (2014-03-05 12:54:44 -0500)
I love Brad and Amy's idea of the acceptable failure. While it's impossible to be perfect, giving yourself this grace and space to not be perfect is amazing because it can give you so much freedom. You don't expect yourself to be perfect. You expect yourself to perform well.
It's kind of like Google's OKRs. You purposefully set them high (dinner together the first night of every month) and realize that you won't hit them. If you get a 70% (0.7 as they do it on their scale) you're doing well. If you're hitting 100% then you're not setting your goals high enough.
Thanks for the post, Rand. It really made me think.
