This definitely has some awesome new functionality, and the statistics within it from a musician's perspective look very beneficial. Will be interesting to see the traction and how artists use it, as they seem to still use the platform.
This, is a must see video. It'll polarize opinions for sure (sideways scrolling....) but bits of it work so beautifully. I love the big text when you post an update. And the overlay with videos/photos in the background. Can't help thinking... I want to see it work, but can't be arsed with yet another social network. :p
That is pretty damn slick. I have no time for another social network, but UI/UX wise, they've got something
Facebook were once the underdog and they attracted MySpace users in part because they had a better UX. At the time.
I would love to see myspace make a successful comeback. It is what originally got me hooked on social media and social networking. Not looking forward to having to get active on another sm platform, especially one that looks so complicated. However I am sure I will get hooked along with the majority of others.
Clean modern UI. Too many moving elements for me but that's just me getting older I guess.
Great platform for bands to interact with their audience in a really engaging way. I think the success depends on the buy in from some big acts. But I'm sure JT has a few connections to make it happen. Also a great place for users to interact with content in a really social way. I think MySpace has positioned itself perfectly with this. I just hope it pans out, although they'll never be as big as Facebook there is definitely a place on the internet for MySpace.
I am surprised I actually liked this as much as I did. I think if it works the way it says it will it will be an amazing resource for musicians. If musicians adopt it again and people know they might have the chance to be a "top fan" and get messaged by their favorite band I think that might be enough for MySpace to make a comeback. I know I would definitely return solely as a SM outlet I dedicate to my favorite music.
If anything they need to rebrand. Or just start a new company with the new ideas the keep creating. Too much negative connotation associated with MySpace.
