This is an older talk, but it's awesome. For anyone who hasn't read Dan Pink's book yet, Drive, you should read that too. One note: There's some research that contradicts some of the previous research about motivation. Originally, they thought monetary rewards reduced intrinsic motivation. However, there's some research that suggests that may not be true. So, that's just something to keep in mind.
The talk is great, but it's not telling us everything. Money doesn't motivate the tasks I do on a daily basis, but it motivates my career. I have intrinsic motivation no matter what, but I will shut it off or turn it on based on monetary reward. I do want to check out the book though. I assume you mean his book "Drive"?
