Except for 1 minor detail. The column WAS sponsored by the NYT. unless Friedman chose to not get paid for the work. :-) We live in a capitalist driven world. I've been hearing about what I would consider some truly bizarre potential sponsorships recently in the news even beyond what the article discusses. Then there's the reality that Congress is a corporate sponsored legislative body as well. Heck the entire U.S. government financial system is sponsored by the big banks. Though at least for now, we don't YET have bank logos on our currency. :-)
