What about a service like bit.ly?
Hi, My colleague Ruben replied to exactly the same question already on our blog. So it's 'duplicate content' ;-), but his answer was quite good in my opinion: "Partly because that it would add another external service to rely on, and we would have to see how to extract + analyze the click data to incoroporate it in our systems (for invoicing+reporting). I would also prefer the user to see the URL they are sent to, I guess with bitly you would only see their links and that feels kind of shady. I also find bitly slow from time to time (at least their API to convert URL’s, it used to slow down our pages, but now we load it async)"
