Upvoted: the message stucks in the head. Despite tough words, he reminds respects and politeness are values to care about.
The best part is that its coming from a man who understand these values to a higher extent!
Thanks Moosa for this! :)
and thanks Federico!
I can commiserate. While running Startup Frontier, I ran into a similar situation. It wasn't as bad as this sounds, since startup founders aren't really trying to grub up a link...they are just incredibly busy. Regardless, I definitely had to sift through interviews and prune out the ones where little effort was put into the answers.
Thanks Zachary for adding your point of view here!
Guess I'm the only one who really didn't like this.
"Another thing I noticed: many people, after I published the interview, just disappeared, they stopped following me on twitter, engaging with me. I’m not the most interesting SEO to follow for sure (that would be sad), but really? You can be the most interesting SEO in the world, but as person , you suck."
Just checked your Twitter account. Tons of people tweeting your post and you didn't say anything to them in public. Besides posting a new Instagram photo? Not everyone has the time...
I agree with you that many people just don't have the time to continually engage via social media, but that isn't Alessio's point though.
There were quite a few people who befriended him in order to solely promote themselves via this wonderful interview series. They didn't put anytime into it. Got what they wanted, and then moved on without so much as a thank you. Many interviewees couldn't even take the time to respond to comments. Would have taken a few minutes to address everyone with a simple thank you. In my eyes (and Alessio's), it came across as disrespectful.
Now, if someone wants to respond to this with a cop out such as "It happens" or "He should expect that", I call BS. If you put all the time and effort into a project like he has, you would probably feel a little agitated as well.
My apologies if I am coming across the wrong way Glen. I honestly don't mean to disrespect your opinion, but I didn't want Alessio's point to be misunderstood.
Thanks Michael for your opinion! you know how much I appreciate.
funny man!
you know...I was in the process of say thanks as I usually do to all the people who were kind enough to tweet my article and discuss, like I'm doing to my blog.
I'm at work right now, and now my day is gonna end. I put an instagram photo right before going in a meeting because it was a one-moment thing and I didn't want to miss.
really, man, give me a break. because probably you don't know me and I don't know you (not true, because I read your stuff :) ) but I really engage with people, only thing I wanted to do when I have some more time to dedicate to them, not to sound like an automatic answering machine.
that's it.
And Glen, you are not the only one not liking my post. It happens. My post was and is a rant about my feelings. you don't agree? cool.
Thanks!
I admit it. It's all my fault. I gave short answers like "Is SEO dead? NO! Want proof? See isseodead.info" and placed a link in it. Please hate me now! Alessio: I promise to invite you for a beer or a Roiboos tea soon as an apology!
I don't think its bad at all... its actually a detailed answer for many who can think! At least its way better who ask you to interview me please! :)
UUU! Tad. I'm up for it! I prefer a beer if it's ok to you!
