I raised these questions in comments on the SERPmetrics blog, but felt we should open the discussion here as well. In particular, we need to know the following... First, from where were the 1 million keywords sourced? This is not an easy task to do in and of itself. My guess is SERPmetrics used the keywords they are tracking on behalf of clients. If this is the case, the keywords are more likely that not disproportionately commercial and competitive - ie: spaces where a good number of SEOs are actively trying to improve their results through methods like rel=author. Second, we need to know whether this is in the top 100 or top 10. The blog post does not clarify, unfortunately. Anyway, just some food for thought.
