This industry thrives off events, and Inbound.org ought to be part of it. We should be helping with promoting events, aggregating and sharing the live-blogging and tweeting, connect people who want to catchup afterward and share follow-up slide decks and videos.
For instance, should we have inbound.org/events/mozcon and inbound.org/events/bristol-web-folks with submissions on that? What should go on there?
There's a lot in this and a lot in getting it right. It would be wonderful to put together something really central for the events going on in this community. What would you love to see Inbound.org do in order to support events in our industry? If you've got examples of similar services, post those too.
Meetup and Eventbrite both offer APIs we can leverage - creative ideas for those will be appreciated.
Love the idea! Seems like I'm the only one interested in this after a day. Hope that changes soon :)
Don't have examples of services but would be nice to have something like inbound.org/events/mozcon available for each series of events. Calendar possibly or ability to easily add an event to G calendar. Possibly have 3 sections for each event (inside the series): RSPV section, during event and resources section after.
Doesn't seem like this will be a priority anytime soon (other discussions are more popular) but would be nice to have something for events :)
Thanks, Ed!
Ooooo I like the idea of a calendar view with RSVPs. That could get really smart :)
