commit: fb200d8 - #595 (2014-04-14 00:44:57 -0400)
Thought we should get a discussion going for Moz Con 2013 Attendees! Would like to get to know everyone and talk some SEO and Measurement.
Possibly even set up a meet up to do a little SEO Q and A to share knowledge and experience.
I'll start, I'm Alan. I'll be attending with a few others from our company. I specialize in Digital Marketing (Including SEO) and Measurement.
Great idea Alan! We're thinking of a "MozCon attendees" group on Inbound as and when we're ready to launch. That may be a few weeks off, but in any case it'll be great validation if this thread gets going.
Trying to organise flights out at the moment...
Yeah, would be great to get the thread going and then migrate. You're heading out all the way from the UK?
In theory, it is 80% likely that there's a possibility, that there may be a plane with me on it...
Kelly here. Coming ALLLLL the way from LA. SEO mainly for myself and my websites, although I do tend to advise an AWFUL lot these days. I'm down for a meetup - especially if beer is included. :)
Kelly glad to hear you're making the trip. Anyone have any ideas for good spot for a meet up, besides at the confrence?
I'll be there. :D
Great! Look forwards to seeing you there!
I won't be there, maybe next year. Too busy working on a few clients cant take 2 weeks off to go to the US lol =)
James, if we do a meetup outside of the conference would a Google Plus hangout work as well?
Really looking forward to meet more people from the Inbound community there! Let me know who's going to be there and let's meet :D
i'll be there, but in disguise, leaving clues to my real identity ala my name tag.
I'll be there - coming all the way from Tampa. I get in Saturday so I can explore Seattle a bit Sunday. Anything exciting to check out near the area? I wont have a car.
I'll be there! First timer - very excited! Coming from St. Paul, MN. Plan on making a vacation of it and driving. I'll arrive Friday and get a few good days of exploring Seattle. I also plan on hitting a Mariners game while I'm there!
I'll be there! Be sure to say hi and autograph my astronaut helmet.
Will do cyrus!
Really excited to be attending this year! First time attendee al the way from Winnipeg, Canada. I'm looking forward to soaking it all in and connecting with as many industry folks as I can. See you in July!
It'll be a blast, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself and take in a lot Lee!
I'll be there too representing Winnipeg with Lee and Adam Carson :) First Mozcon for me too and I just can't wait!
I won't be attending MozCon proper, but I'll be in the area. We should do an Inbound meetup at some point!
That's the plan! Are you a local??
I am a local - born and raised! Let me know if you (or anyone else) has questions about the Seattle area ^_^
Lauren if we were to get a meet up going, where's a good place to host it at that will be close to the event / hotels?
If I could find flights under $1k, I'd consider it. Flights 1k, hotel a few hundred, moz $$ = big trip for me to fly all the way there. I'd love to go but it's a BIG ask from where I'm at now.
Matt what if we did a Google Plus Hangout?
If it's at a time we are awake (ie. after 2 pm Pacific) then I'll definitely be there. :)
Sounds good. I don't see it being any time before that honestly, but I don't know the schedule.
If there was an Inbound.org meetup around the MozCon timeframe, what day and time may work best? (It's early but doesn't hurt to start thinking about it.)
I don't know on that. Ed Fry would be the man for this question.
This will be my second MozCon and I am looking forward to it. Is SEOMoz planning to create a Twitter list of 2013 attendees? They made one last year and it was super helpful. https://twitter.com/SEOmoz/mozcon-attendees-2012
Charles do you have any info for the community on a twitter list for 13'?
I will definitely be there. It will be my first one. I have heard nothing but amazing things
It will be an awesome time Dan!
Also, If anyone has any information in regards to twitter list, G plus, special events at MOZ Con, etc, please share! All the professionals going would love to get the most out of it as possible.
If anyone else is still looking for a list, the event is setup on Lanyard.com (http://lanyrd.com/2013/mozcon/) so I registered as an attendee. Not looking forward to the cross-country flight but really excited about attending my first MozCon event.
I’ve just read the recap of all recaps of MozCon 2013. It’s really great! The most interesting highlights for me were during the Day 3. One of the topics discussed on that day is Pete Meyer’s presentation about the future of rankings. He mentioned this “If you are in a space where Google wants to play, you better watch out and not in a good way”. Every SEO today faces a lot of challenges with the updates made by Google.
