It's sad. No community left. It's now just a news site.
Stuart, from what I've read from the developers, they do plan to add commenting and the community back to the site, but they want to do it "right" and thus, it wasn't included in the initial launch.
biggest snafu imho "Using Facebook for account registration is a short-term solution that will seriously cut down on spam, while we take our time to develop more robust spam-filter technology. We know this isn’t ideal".....I'm not logging in Digg.
Yeah, they want to post to Facebook on your behalf. I didn't allow this though.
I just don't assume curators are the Facebook login sort relative to twitter users for example,am I being assumptive here? Sure the headline universe may seem bigger but are the information spreaders outside of Facebook using their logins that much. Seems like a Like bastard idea. Put it this way: I won't be skimming it for tech or marketing news.
pretty good redesign, a white page with "502 Bad Gateway" error. Anyone else getting that?
Bri I just got a 504.
Two comments on this: 1) I'm impressed at how quickly they were able to get a redesign in place and a new site posted. 2) I think they could do a much better job with the design. It looks like a bad wordpress "magazine/newspaper theme" Either way, I'm glass half full on this one and look forward to seeing a success story here! Jordan
Cluttered portal like design. Bad usability. I can't even discern whether I dugg an article or not. Forced Facebook log in. Submission is very limited, you can't add or change anything. You don't even see whether and where your story appears. I had some hopes in the new Digg but this won't work.
Not too impressed with this. Quite bad UI, as Tad Chef said, looks cluttered. I am not sure the world needs another news portal. We are getting pretty over whelmed with data. I will be surprised if this takes off.
